We are a Lake Forest based design/build practice providing extraordinary service in the architectural design and construction of carefully crafted projects. Founded in January of 2000 by architect Scott A. Streightiff, the firm has established a solid foundation with steady growth and notoriety.

Our firm offers a boutique-like approach in working with our clients in order to ensure a high level of personal attention throughout the architectural and construction process. We specialize in new infill homes, significant renovation/additions and historic preservation projects generally within the North Shore of Chicago.

We start with a comprehensive architectural process. In doing so, we can be confident that the specific needs of our clients are met, and that those needs are properly communicated to assure consistent and competitive bidding and to minimize error during construction.

With a small inter-office staff, our team is comprised of the carefully selected subcontractors, artists and artisans that work on our projects. We have spent much time and effort forming these relationships so that our clients can be assured that the most capable professionals are working on their investment.

Often projects will require significant municipal approvals. Whether it is a zoning variance, architectural review boards or historic preservation, we have established a good rapport with the local municipalities and have the experience to streamline that process.

Typically working within the language of traditional or transitional architecture, we strive to make each new project unique and sensitive to our communities and their historical context. We consider all work important, from small-scale renovations to high-end new construction. Our client’s home most often represents their most significant asset and their largest investment. We do not take this lightly. This is evident by our firms numerous repeat clients and architectural awards.

Personal

Scott is a native to the North Shore of Chicago and currently resides in Lake Bluff, Illinois with his wife and three boys. Scott has been working in residential architecture for over 20 years.

Scott gets inspiration from the great eclectic architects of our past who created memorable structures in Lake Forest and throughout the North Shore from the turn of the last century and into the 20`s and 30`s. His personal favorites include David Adler, H.T. Lindberg, Howard Van Doren Shaw, Jerome Cerney and Stanley Anderson.
